i first tossed this idea to my readers as a mini reflection that they could do to look back at what they would tell their past self. but after reading many responses, i realized that these little tid bits extend past just one person's experience. i believe that they have the power to resonate beyond just an individual to help others, too.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that losing them won't mean losing yourself. you will think that you can't even breathe without them, but you'll find yourself in their absence. as cliche as it sounds, where one door closes, another will open."
~ eli h.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that the world does not end when you mess up! you're allowed to make mistakes, because you can't exactly learn if you don't know where you went wrong. it is your first time living, too, so it is completely understandable. you'll stand taller next time, because you've learned."
~ amelia s.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that forgiveness doesn't mean what they did was okay, but you still do deserve peace. holding onto that anger eventually weighs you down, and letting go will free you."
~ joci p.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that your job title and your worth are not interconnected. those long hours and sleepless nights will not define you, but how you treat yourself WILL. and success is not a race, what is meant for you, will happen!"
~ amy l.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is to say how you feel, when you feel it. holding it in won't protect you, it'll only leave you wondering "what if i". the less regrets, the better."
~ edward s.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that rushing won't get you there faster. it'll only make you miss the journey getting there. take a breather, slow down, and enjoy where you are right now. life isn't really about the destination, it is about the journey getting there."
~ addie t.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is to stop measuring yourself and your life against someone else's. you've worked so hard and you have your own timeline. you're not behind, you are exactly where you're meant to be in your life and doing what was intended for you."
~ talia z.
"one thing i'd tell my past self is that your loyalty is not something that everyone deserves. you can love someone deeply, and love someone honestly, but you have to be careful where and who you leave your trust with."
~ jasmine k.
thank you for all the responses i received from everyone, i apologize for not being able to include all of them here. for everyone reading, i really hope at least one resonated with you today :)
